New Job: Entry Level Technician

The Entry Level Technician will be part of the Installation Team, reporting to the Lead Technician, and be responsible for the initial placement of equipment including routing of low voltage wiring between components of the system.  The successful candidate will have the technical knowledge and skills to troubleshoot said systems. Roles and responsibilities for this position include:   

Role Functions

  • Install and service cabling infrastructure and devices including: Access devices, Data, Audio Visual, and Video Surveillance equipment
  • Follow pre-wiring, installation, termination, testing, reporting, and labeling per specifications and drawings
  • Test and troubleshoot equipment and systems
  • Providing daily feedback on project progress to Lead Technician
  • Follow best health and safety practices as part of an installation team while maintaining a safe work environment

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain AESBL licenses as an Installer for Access Control Systems (A) and CCTV Systems (S) – if already obtained, that it is a plus.
  • Minimum education level of High School Diploma or state-recognized equivalent
  • Aptitude to acquire knowledge of low voltage test equipment and cable installation/routing
  • Proper use of all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned tasks
  • Ability to interpret and understand the information contained within blueprints, building floor plans, electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, and test specifications
  • Perform assigned tasks in a professional and ethical manner
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Willing to work flexible/additional hours in order to meet project timelines
  • Maintain required yearly, AESBL approved, Continuing Education Units (CEUs) hours so there is not a lapse in license
