FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS No. The funding for this agreement is provided by the Mississippi Department of Education and does not come from any federally-backed sources. That means your district will not be expected to reimburse or pay back any portion of what's covered under this agreement. The Most Common Questions Districts are asking Will our district have to pay back any of the funding outlined in this agreement? A: Please Note: You must be logged in to your nSide Platform to be able to access certain articles within the nSide|Community. Please Note: You must be logged in to your nSide Platform to be able to access certain articles within the nSide|Community. attach_money FUNDING CONCERNS CAMERAS Are any new cameras included in this new agreement? No, the new agreement does not cover any new cameras for districts. This includes districts who are opting in for the first time and districts under the previous agreement. If your district chooses to purchase or add cameras beyond those included in the previous agreement, these additional cameras will not be covered. In that case, the district will be responsible for all costs related to purchasing, installing, and integrating them. A: Are the cameras we received as part of the previous agreement still covered? A: Yes, any cameras integrated into the nSide Platform between March 2022 and September 2024 will remain active and supported under the current agreement. If your district chooses to purchase or add cameras beyond those originally included, these additional cameras will not be covered. In that case, the district will be responsible for all costs related to purchasing, installing, and integrating them.
 MAPPING Will our campus be mapped if we’re opting in for the first time and new to the nSide Platform? If your district has newly opted in to the nSide Platform under the new agreement, your initial mapping will be completed as part of the onboarding process. If no maps currently exist in the nSide Platform for your district, the cost of mapping will be fully covered with no additional expense to the district. A: What if our school had construction or renovations happening when we previously opted in? Will those new areas be mapped? A: Yes, if your district completed new construction, renovations, or building additions between March 2022 and September 2024 that did not allow us to complete our initial mapping process, those spaces can be mapped as part of the new agreement. Any projects completed after September 2024 will not be covered under this renewal agreement. If your district chooses to have these newer spaces mapped, the cost for mapping and integration will be the district’s responsibility.

A: If your district is requesting full remapping services (after being fully mapped between March 2022 and September 2024), those costs will need to be covered by the district. This includes remapping due to projects completed after September 2024 or other large-scale changes not included in your original onboarding. If you are interested in being remapped, use the link below to request mapping.

Has anything changed? Yes, quite a bit. If you’re familiar with the nSide|Lockdown™ app from the past, you’ll be glad to know it’s been significantly upgraded. The interface is more intuitive, performance has improved, and several new features have been added. It’s faster, easier to use, and much more reliable than earlier versions. A: How do we get started using the nSide|Lockdown™ app? A: To get started, your district’s Safety Point of Contact or admin must invite all users to register with nSide through the Organization Manager in your Platform. Using the Manage Invitations tab, the SPOC can send account invitations, approve or deny requests, and even bulk invite multiple users.

To manage access to the nSide|Lockdown™ app, go to the Manage Lockdown tab in the Organization Manager. From there, use the Mobile App Users menu to edit who can use Lockdown. If someone isn’t listed, they either don’t have an nSide account or haven’t accepted their invitation—check the Manage Invitations tab to confirm.

Finally, all approved users should download the nSide|Lockdown™ app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. They’ll log in with the credentials they created during registration and can then send alerts, messages, and more.
