Senior Developer

New Job: Senior Developer

Join our team, developing the School Safety Platform, working on client-side and server-side application development in technologies focusing on Javascript, Angular, ASP.NET, C#, VB.NET, MySQL, Google Cloud Platform, etc. On-site in Florence, AL or remote considered.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in web development or other, related fields.
  • Proficiency with HTML, JavaScript, Angular, VB.NET/C#, and MySQL required.
  • Established problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Focus on attention to detail.

Job Tasks

  • Write, analyze, review, and rewrite programs, using workflow chart and diagram. Apply knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, and symbolic logic.
  • Correct errors by making appropriate changes and rechecking the program to ensure that the desired results are produced.
  • Perform or direct revision, repair, or expansion of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements.
  • Write, update, and maintain computer programs or software packages to handle specific jobs such as: tracking inventory, storing or retrieving data, or controlling other equipment.
  • Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes.

Skills

  • Database management system software — Experience with MySQL databases and Google Cloud SQL management preferred. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQLite, PostgreSQL, and other database systems will be considered.
  • Development environment software — Experience with Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, and/or WebStorm preferred. Experience with other development environments will be considered.
  • Operating system software — Linux, Microsoft Windows, macOS.
  • Web platform development software — Experience with HTML and JavaScript required. Experience with ASP.NET using VB.NET or C# preferred.
  • Programming — Writing computer programs for various purposes.
  • Critical Thinking — Reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Complex Problem Solving — Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop options while implementing solutions.
  • Operations Analysis — Analyzing needs and product requirements to create a design.
  • Reading Comprehension — Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.

Abilities

  • Deductive Reasoning — Applying general rules to produce sensible outcomes.
  • Oral Comprehension — Listening to and understanding ideas, presented through spoken words and sentences.
  • Near Vision — The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • Problem Sensitivity — Recognizing when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.
  • Written Comprehension — Understanding information and ideas presented in writing.

Job Tasks

  • Collect mapping data within buildings
  • Follow nSide data collection standards
  • Provide daily feedback on project progress to Field Mapping Crew Chief
  • Follow best health and safety practices as part of a field mapping team while maintaining a safe work environment
  • Position and hold 360 cameras for collection of nSide|Views.
  • Check all layers of maps to ensure accuracy, identifying and marking errors and making corrections.
  • Monitor mapping work or the updating of maps to ensure accuracy, inclusion of new or changed information, or compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Produce or update overlay maps to show building layouts, critical infrastructure, and 360-degree photospheres on various base maps or at different scales.
