2022 SCHOOL SAFETY SUMMIT
As we quickly approach the end of another year, we at nSide are gearing up for our annual School Safety Summit. This year we are returning to the Orange Beach Event Center on December 6th and 7th with an agenda full of speakers, presenters, and workshops for attendees from our home state of Alabama and across the Southeast region!
Our focus this year is averting school violence, and thanks to our partners at Rhombus Systems, we are joined by Dr. Frank Straub of the National Policing Institute. Dr. Straub will be delivering our keynote, sharing lessons gleaned from years of researching averted violent attacks.
In addition to Dr. Straub, we will have experts from across the Southeast offering sessions on creating effective EOPs, threat assessment, situational awareness, and improving drills.
We are also excited to bring back our Happy Hour on December 6th, where we are looking forward to connecting with and learning more about our partners. It is a great time to unwind and catch up with the nSide team and other attendees.

MAPPING PROJECTS
One of the most distinguishing features about nSide is our interactive maps and 360 degree photos of campus interiors. Our mapping teams come out to each campus to collect these images and plot critical infrastructure points that will aid in emergency planning and response. This quarter, we tackled some major mapping projects across Alabama and Mississippi with a collective 197 schools and 19.5 MILLION square feet mapped.

NSIDE TRAINING TEAM
The Training Team at nSide has been working hard to get schools and districts onboarded to the nSide platform. The Training Team works in a 3-phase process to make sure all schools have what they need to be successful in emergency preparation. The first phase is to identify and provide online training for the district TPOC (Technical Point of Contact). They then work with the TPOC to decide which district employees and external partners (such as first responders, EMA, etc.) will need to have access to the nSide platform. Once a team is formed, the Training Team travels to the district and conducts on-site training with the team. This hands-on training walks users through the platform, guiding them through map features and necessary forms, as well as accessing their new cameras in the platform.
