On June 29, 2023, the State of Alabama Department of Education announced funding availability to help improve schools in School Safety and other areas.
According to the State memorandum, the money can be used for school security, education technology and equipment, repairs and deferred maintenance, classroom instruction support, insuring facilities, and transportation. Each K12 school district in the state has been allocated a portion of the total $2billion dollars package to purchase these upgrades.
